I'll open by saying we really didn't need this movie. I wanted to be absolutely be ready to see whatever this was so I went back and watched the original 1990 film. It was alright, maybe it's just because I don't understand the culture from the time but I didn't have a blast, it was just OK. The rap battle was absolutely the best part but this isn't a review of the 1990 version.

This film is only the same as the original in name. There is a small cameo from some legacy characters but other then that there is no connection. I will say that I got a little smile out of me when I saw the highlighter green outfit from one of the characters but that was it! The film was filled with cameos and a rather thin plot that has a rushed ending.

Now that that's out of the way, I liked it. I enjoyed watching it because of the cameos. For all meanings of the word, it is not a film, but a movie. There's no actual substance to watch it but if you enjoy all the people who pop by you'll have a good time. Some of the dialogue can be cringe-worthy but that's not why you came to the theater, you wanted to see Snoop Dog and a koala get high and listen to Kid Cudi.
